This Lunch Bag Lecture delves into the potential of combining artificial intelligence (AI) with universal design principles to create more inclusive solutions. We are currently in the midst of a technological revolution, with AI rapidly expanding its presence across numerous sectors of society. This ongoing shift presents a unique opportunity to harness AI as a powerful tool for inclusion, enabling marginalized individuals to participate more fully in social life.
Throughout the lecture, several research examples are presented, showcasing how AI has been successfully applied to develop innovative tools for people with special needs. These include technologies such as visual support through VR glasses and the remote control of robots, which not only enhance accessibility but also empower individuals to engage more actively with their surroundings. By integrating AI with universal design, we can ensure that technology and resources are available to everyone, regardless of their abilities, fostering a more equitable and inclusive world.
In respect of our presenters at Lunch Bag Lectures, the terms, language and use of concepts that the researchers find appropriate in their field of research are used according to their choice.
